Create Your Own Picture Book on Saturday June 23rd

A hands-on workshop with author/illustrator Marie Wabbes

The workshop will start with a presentation of Marie’s wide-ranging experience in the world of picture books where she has over 180 published works to her name. She will share her experiences of the publishing world, including the new trends that she sees developing in today’s highly competitive market. She will also discuss various techniques and media that can be used to illustrate/create a picture book – be it for commercial publication or for a personal ‘one only’ creation.

After the presentation there will be a two hour creative session where you can explore your own unique vision for a picture book or just play with ideas. Whether you choose to develop characters and plots or prefer to make a wordless illustrated book – or both! – is up to you.

This workshop, with its blend of industry insight and creative stimulation will help each participant develop their craft and achieve their goals, be it for publication or personal satisfaction.

For those interested, there will be the possibility of a one-on-one portfolio review with Marie. Please contact Dina von Lowenkraft to set up an appointment.

Time: 14:00-17:00 (Reviews will take place during creative sessions)
