Spring Writers and Illustrators Retreat
March 22-24, 2013
Mission San Luis Rey
4050 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92057
The retreat begins Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. with a networking dessert and distribution of written critiques. From then until Sunday, March 24 at 5 p.m. your time is yours to structure. You can wander the grounds of the beautiful Mission San Luis Rey (near Oceanside), hole up your room, or write or draw at your leisure in one of the rooms provided. Or join a critique group, sit in on a focus session** run by published authors or illustrators, or do a bit of everything. In addition, you can register for the one-day intensives, which focus on illustration, picture books, or young adult novels.
All meals, lodging, critique groups, and focus sessions are included in your registration fee. Accommodations are clean, but spartan. Double rooms include two twin beds, a small desk and a chair. Single rooms are the same, but have one bed. Restrooms are located down the hall. Think of a long hall with dorm rooms and you won’t be far off. Food is good, all you can eat, and served cafeteria style to accommodate all dietary needs.
Intensives, written critiques, and in-person critiques or portfolio reviews are extra.
