Critiques 101: Giving and Getting Meaningful Feedback
Getting good feedback on your writing is one of the most important ways to improve your craft. Providing good feedback to other writers is an essential part of finding critique partners. Join our panel for a discussion of how to work with critique partners - in person and online, deliver useful feedback and receive criticism that may not be what you expected.
Please bring several copies of up to 250 words from your work-in-progress (the beginning page is recommended!) for small group critiquing.
Cost: $15 SCBWI members $20 non-members
Panelists:
Beth Cooley, author of "Ostrich Eye" and "Shelter." Professor of English, Gonzaga University
John Bladek, author of "Roll Up the Streets!"
Rachel Hamby, Moderator of the online critique group, Critcasters, and aspiring picture book writer
Mary Douthitt, finalist, 2012 Katherine Paterson Award for YA and Children's Writing
