Looking back over my first year as Regional Advisor for the Inland Northwest, I am extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Our conference and workshops have been high quality, well-attended events.Writers filled every seat at our recent Plot Intensive with Arthur A. Levine Executive Editor Cheryl Klein. Here are some comments from several who attended :
~“I’ve written five books, but never really understood plots. This workshop helped a great deal.”
~“Bookmaps—Wow! Awesome!”

~“Plot is one of the trickiest elements for me and this material was fabulous.”

Authors Maureen McQuerry, Steve Wallenfels & Polly McMahon

Taking a break from Intensive. Authors Trent Reedy, Genissa Bornong,

Mari Hunt, Beth Cooley, John Bladek, Mary Cronk Farrell, Claire Rudolf Murphy
Last November we hosted Social Media Expert Greg Pincus, who helped us get a handle on how to make twitter, blogging and Facebook work for us. Writers raved about Greg’s one-on-one consults about their media presence. People braved cold snowy weather to attend this day-long workshop. Some comments afterward:
~“ Very valuable.”
~“Good concrete information. Well organized. Learned a lot.”
~“Encouraged me to get started. I can do this.”
~“This made the process seem do-able, reasonable and useful.”
Thanks to everyone for the terrific response to my recent survey. There was overwhelming support for going ahead with our annual conference. Eleven members have volunteered to serve on our regional advisory board. We are booking speakers and planning logistics. Stay tuned….
I hope to see you in July at the summer social. If you need a ride, please let me know. We’re arranging carpools.
