From Literature to Theatre
DATE: March 9, 2010
CONTACT: Linda Tan
LOCATION/TIME: PJLA, Jaya One
This is a panel discussion between Bill Davies and Yusof Gajah, an exchange of ideas on storytelling and how adaptation between literature and theatre can work.
Bill Davies, the artistic director of the UK based Blunderbus Theatre Company, will be arriving in KL after their successful UK tour of Giraffes.
Bill founded Blunderbus in 1998, and has extensive experience in directing and writing for children's theatre, some of which are based on children's book adaptations that have toured all over UK.
Bill is an accomplished author, actor and puppeteer - even in the art of making puppets. More interestingly, Bill recently wrote and directed a musical play, The Dragon's Daughter, that will be soon published in a book.
Yusof Gajah is Malaysian artist and award winning children's book writer and illustrator. He has also been involved with children's drama, storytelling, writing and using puppets and illustrations in storytelling.
