Whether you're a beginner or a published author, Rose will take you along her road to success, revealing the kind of hints that will help everyone. She'll discuss her creative process, the ways to build story, critique groups, what works and doesn't work, what to do with humor and tragedy, landing an agent, the relationship with an editor, publication and marketing. In this presentation, you will follow her from idea to published book, learning how you, too, can become a successful author.
ROSE COOPER, a Random House author, has published three middle-grade novels: "Secrets from the Sleeping Bag," "Gossip from the Girls' Room" and "Rumors from the Boys' Room." She is both a children's writer and illustrator and a self-taught artist, combining the best of those worlds. Her art work, described as "Tim Burton-ish," can be seen in local galleries, art fairs, and festivals. An avowed chocoholic, she is afraid of moths, but has skydived from 14,000 feet. Writing for children gives her the perfect excuse to keep in touch with her inner child and never really grow up. She lives in Sacramento, California with her husband, Carl, and their three rambunctious boys, where she is clearly outnumbered.
