You’re invited to discover the joys and challenges of writing narrative non-fiction for kids. Author Natasha Carter Yim will discuss selecting your subject, research, writing and editing and the importance of finding the “story” behind the facts. With examples from her two non-fiction titles:
Cixi, The Dragon Empress (Goosebottom Books, 2011) and
Sacajawea of the Shoshone (Goosebottom Books, 2012) she will discuss tackling controversial facts, keeping track of your resources and research notes and most importantly, making history fun for kids in and out of the classroom.
