This board is for SCBWI Articles by Verla Kay (and discussions of those articles) about the Blueboard - hints, timesaver tips, ways to make the Blueboard work for you, etc. can be found here. Discussions about each article are allowed and encouraged.
Here's where SCBWI PAL members can promote their books. Please note that while only PAL members may PROMOTE their books on this board - anyone may reply to messages posted here. If you do not have SCBWI PAL status in your profile and you are published with a listed publisher, contact SCBWI to correct your status with them.
Here's the place to post information that will help others who are doing research on specific subjects, or for you to request information. NOTE: ONLY request research help here if you have already exhausted your own internet sources first.
Here's the place to put all information about writing and illustrating contests. Discussions pertaining to writing and illustrating challenges such as NaNoWriMo, PiBoIdMo, Inktober, Smart Dummies, 12 x 12, etc., also go here.
This board contains information that has been given special permission by SCBWI to be posted on the Blueboard. Note: All posts on this board must first be approved by a Moderator before they will show up on the board.
This board is a place for authors and illustrators to discuss how to use social media in their careers, both as promotion and as a way to interact with readers and others interested in children's literature. It is NOT a place to self-promote, and any promotional posts will be removed without notice.
Here's the place to share tips and information about using your computers for writing and illustrating and it's also the place to talk about building websites. Please use the URL's boards for listing specific URL's that don't pertain to these topics.
This board is for all writing and illustrating good news pertaining to children's literature − selling a book or article, book birthdays, magazine acceptances, signing with an agent, awards, professional journal reviews, etc. Please be sure you have at least five quality posts before sharing your good news here. New: To streamline the various boards, we are asking that no links to sales pages be added to the posts here. You can have a link to your website or blog where you might also have a sales page link, however. Any posts including a direct link to a sales page (which would be a page with a 'buy' button) will be moved (without notice) to the Promotional board.
Here's the place to post news about covers, trailers, launch parties, blogger & internet reviews, giveaways, etc. Note: We don't want your post counts to go up and down like a yo-yo, so posts here do not count towards your post total because these posts are periodically purged from the board in order to make way for more current posts. Plus, for those of you who have just joined the board, new members must have at least 5 "quality" posts before posting here, and preferably more. It's usually a good idea to spend some time in the community before jumping right in and promoting yourself or your book. Give us all a chance to know you, and then we'll be happy to celebrate with you. Thank you!
This board is for anything and everything that doesn't fit in Kidlit Good News or Promotional Good News. If something wonderful has happened to you or someone you love, you can share it here. Note: We don't want your post counts to go up and down like a yo-yo, so posts here do not count towards your post total because these posts are periodically purged from the board in order to make way for more current posts. Also, we are thrilled to celebrate news and events with all our members. However, to cut down on some of the drive-by posting we have seen, we ask that you wait to post your news/events until you have at least five quality posts elsewhere on the board. Thank you!
Here's the place to post all events that anyone can attend, including SCBWI open events. Please note: We are thrilled to celebrate news and events with all our members. However, to cut down on some of the drive-by posting we have seen, we ask that you wait to post your news/events until you have at least five quality posts elsewhere on the board. Thank you!
