I always thought the kid lit. I’ve worked on over the many years would be the first thing to be published.  While I’m still at work on fiction for the younger audience, I was pleased to hear Foliate Oak, a small literary magazine, picked up my short story entitled “The Christmas Zephyr”  for publication.  This is my first piece of fiction to be published.  It’s quite a thrill to have something I wrote out there for others to read.

The story is free to read here:  http://www.foliateoak.com/

Thank you everyone for your kind and supportive words.  It has taken me a lot longer to make this first step than I was expecting (I’m not complaining.  It’s been a fantastic experience).  I’m glad to be able to share my news with the blueboard community that has been so helpful in my journey.  Over the years, through the blueboard, I’ve sought and received timely, insightful advice, have found threads to pick me up after painful rejections,  and has been a source of writer’s advice to numerous to count.    Thank you Verla Kay, and everyone involved, in making this little place on the internet such a wonderful place for writers.
