Social Media Boosting?

Hi Everyone!

In other creative fields, it's common to have social media boost groups. These are places where you can put up links to social media posts so other members can like, favorite, retweet, etc. in order to boost the post's visibility and numbers. The etiquette is similar to the "good news" thread in that you should save these requests for milestone posts and actively participate by liking/sharing other members' posts before posting your own boost request. They can be a great way to foster additional connections with your community on social media, too.

I'm new to SCBWI, but I'm wondering if this is something that could be useful on Blueboard. I know these boards have a "no promotion" policy on the Social Media threads. Is there a place where this would be appropriate to start up?

Hi, Tara. This is definitely against our policy because we're not a promotional venue or a place for advertising; instead, we're here to be a supportive community for the writing journey, a place to meet other writers at every stage of the game and have conversations about our creative processes, goals, and struggles. At this point, we feel that promotional threads/links like those on other social media would detract from our primary purpose, and many of us come here to get away from the constant promo-ing that goes on elsewhere. :)

OK, thanks for the reply!

I did notice that we have a Twitter follow thread, though. Is anyone maintaining a Twitter list of SCBWI members?
