Kid's series:  Dimwood Forest by Avi.

Adult:  I pick up a Sookie Stackhouse book every few months, 'cause i want a new True Blood season faster!

I'm waiting for the next Dresden novel and I started Cussler's Dirk Pitt series.  Talk about dated.  The early Pitt books really reflect their times.  :)

Shades of Grey, by Jasper Fforde. The audiobook made an 850-mile round trip very, very endurable!
