I wrote about May Day, figuring not many would use this holiday.

I didn't enter this year. I'm rooting for all my fellow Blueboarders though and will wait for the good news to come in for someone.  :goodluck

Sounds like you have covered a good variety of the holidays.

I got unexpected fun news in my mailbox this morning. My old 2007 contest winner reprint rights were just sold by Highlights to Peoples Education. So some student somewhere will be reading my story and it lives on a bit longer!  :dancer

Crossing my fingers that someone on the BBs will win this year's Highlights contest. I didn't have a story to enter, but plan to have something next January! Remember, too, that even if you don't win the contest itself, they do buy stories from among the submissions so we could have multiple BB winners!

Do the winners not know until they announce it on highlights.com? I kind of gave up hope since I thought they surely contacted the winners ahead of that date to fill out paperwork or something. Hmmm. . .

Either way, I do love a good campfire.  :bbq

Just looked back, and last year it wasn't announced online until July 1!  I'm sure some years it was earlier.

Good luck, all!

Congratulations to the winners!!! I've seen a lot of Clare Mischica's work in Highlights. She's a rebus queen!
I had an encouraging note from Joelle, so I hope some of manuscripts will be considered for purchase. Hope reigns eternal.
Off to think of mysterious things!
