Contest #2 - "Ireland" Deadline for Entries was March 10 at Noon. As St. Patrick's Day comes to a close today, I am happy to announce (just in time for the evening's full festivities) the winners of our 2nd Illustrator Contest. Congratulations to winner Todd Mueller and runner-up Scott Black! Todd will be receiving a free year's membership in the SCBWI and Scott will receive a SCBWI t-shirt! Their fantastic illustrations show such a difference in style, and also such a difference in interpretation of our theme: Ireland. Congratulations to them both and thank you all for participating in the contest. So much wonderful artwork is created for our contests -- keep up the good work and keep submitting! CONTEST THEME: Use the lore or landscape of Ireland to create a visual feast for St. Patrick's Day. Your image can be realistic, magical, incorporate wee folk, history, traditions -- pretty much anything that has to do with Ireland. Our only stipulations on content, as always, are that it be appropriate for children and, this time, have to do with Ireland. |
