Illustrator Contest #1 - "Winter Reading"
Contest Deadline: December 10, 2002

We have our winners! We decided to have two winners and one runner up. The styles were so different, but the images so fantastic, that we decided this was the best decision. Our two winners are Traci Van Wagoner and Beth Budra. Each will receive a free year's membership with the SCBWI. Our runner-up is Bill Carman who will receive an SCBWI book bag. Congratulations to our winners for the best images that promote winter reading, and thank you all for participating in our first illustrator contest!

Please take some time to enjoy the wonderful artwork...

Beth Budra lives in Albany, CA, where it never snows and she doesn't get to ice skate much.

In 1998 Traci Van Wagoner applied her hard earned BFAs in illustration from Utah State University and toy design at Fashion Institute of Technology towards her own product development firm in NYC where she is still busy developing products and images for children.

Bill Carman teaches illustration at Boise State University. His first picture book, titled What's That Noise?, was recently released in July 2002 by Random House.
