The Secret of the Golden Heart

Synopsis:

Kristian McNeal has depended on his twin, Gracie, to fight most of his battles, and he’d never admit he didn't know what he'd do without her. But this time, he'll summon the courage to fight the most important battle of his life—without Gracie.

After twelve-year-old Kristian steals his mother’s golden heart heirloom for selfish reasons, he's swept from danger and transported to a planet he never knew existed—and discovers he’s been chosen to fulfill his mother’s destiny. An ancient evil shadow threatens his heritage, but to destroy the shadow and save the dying planet, he must find the key that unlocks the secret of the golden heart.

Will he courageously follow that still, small voice and discover the true meaning of faith, or will he go down his own unknown path?

Debbie grew up in a small town in Northern Indiana with her best friend Susie (a mix between a hound and terrier). Her love of writing began at a young age, and her interest in fantasy stories grew when she encountered Baum’s Wizard of Oz, which she watched every year during her childhood. She loved writing as a child; some short stories and poems, but she never pursued a writing career until she enrolled in the Institute of Children’s Literature. This gave her a good foundation and taught her to be disciplined in her writing.

She hopes to inspire children to pursue their passion, give them hope for their future, and to never to give up on their dreams. She contributes her passion for writing to God, and her Savior Jesus Christ.

She was a peer counselor at a Woman’s Pregnancy Care Center and advocates that every life matters even the unborn.

Other than writing, she loves her family and friends, her dog, Ringo, outdoor activities, and gazing at the wonders of universe on clear nights.
