A MASTER CLASS IN POETRY with LEE BENNETT HOPKINS ($75)
Lee Bennett Hopkins, one of America’s leading children’s poets, will direct an intensive master class devoted to the many facets of the genre – from technique to publication – via his informal cache of knowledge. Meetings take place during the conference for a total of five hours and replace all morning workshop sessions. In addition, lunch will be provided on Friday. Participation granted on a first come, first serve basis to full-time attendees only. Please check the corresponding box on the registration page.

PRO WORKSHOP: INCREASING YOUR REVENUE & BOOK SALES ($20)
This special workshop track is open to writers and illustrators with a published children’s book or magazine article, or are under contract. In addition to the four workshop sessions, please join us for a special Friday luncheon. A panel of our distinguished faculty will be in attendance to exchange ideas on the pros and cons of publishing with multiple houses. Tickets are $20 each. If interested, check the corresponding box on the registration page. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: July 30.

CREATING A SERIES: A WORKSHOP with BONNIE BADER
Editorial Director Bonnie Bader leads a group of writers through the process of creating a book series, beginning with an idea at its earliest developmental stages and turning it into a ready-to-submit proposal. Those interested will be assigned to one of two sections – Friday & Sunday, or Saturday & Monday – and should come prepared with two series ideas of their own. Enrollment will be strictly limited to a first come, first serve basis. If interested, please check the corresponding box on the registration page.
