1.
Featured Artists must be active members of the SCBWI.
2. Artists must list contact information and a short biography
(300 words), along with the artwork. The contact information must include
at least one of the following: home address, phone, fax, email, agent's
contact information.
3. One piece of artwork is shown on our website homepage. The
artist, in conjunction with the SCBWI Staff, will choose which piece
of artwork will be placed on the website and which pieces are shown
on the Featured Artist page. SCBWI reserves the right to make the final
decision.
4. The artwork must be from an unpublished, non-contracted children's
book, or a freelance illustration that is appropriate for children's
literature.
5. The SCBWI retains the right to post the piece of artwork on
the Featured Artist main page and the SCBWI homepage for one month.
After such time, the artwork will be moved to our Previous FA section.
There will be no extension of the one-month period, except by explicit
authorization from both the artist and the Executive Staff of the SCBWI.
If the artwork is subsequently published, the artist and/or the SCBWI
can request that the artwork is removed entirely from the website, including
the Previous FA section.
6. The SCBWI will make every attempt to maintain the integrity
of the artwork and its electronic file, however, the artist agrees to
hold the SCBWI and its staff and affiliates harmless from any legal
action that may result from the appearance of this artwork on our website.
This will include, but is not limited to, persons downloading the artwork
off the SCBWI website for other purposes.
