Guidelines for SCBWI Member Links

1. Member websites should focus on writing and/or illustration, although they may also include other parts of your life, career, or business.

2. Any member, full or associate, may use the SCBWI logo on your site as long as you use it as an icon for linking back to www.scbwi.org. You may resize it, change its color, even animate it, as long as you do not distort its basic design.

3. Our best advice is to register your own domain name (yourname.com, yourbusinessname.com, etc.) and keep the registration paid up. It's well worth it. You must make sure that you are always in control of your own URL.

You should have some record of a payment plan with the domain name registrar, or a contract agreement which binds them to notify you when you need to renew.

If you have an automatic credit card payment on file, make sure that you keep that credit card active and that you keep your email address active. If you change email addresses, you must change your info with the domain name registrar so that you will receive their notices of need to renew.

Keeping on top of all this can save you much pain and hassle if your domain is sold to someone else because you didn't renew it.

Troubleshooting

* If you click on your name but get an error message, check to make sure you have entered your URL correctly.

* If you prefer to be displayed with a version of your name different from your full mailing name (longer, shorter, pseudonym, etc.), update your information in your "Update My Member Information" page.

* If your link disappears from SCBWI member links, check to see if your membership needs to be renewed, or if your URL no longer functions.

SCBWI reserves the right to add or remove links to any websites at any time and for any reason.
