ABOUT JACKIE KRUZIE

  • As an elementary student I attended my school’s annual Young Author’s Conference. Students spent weeks writing and illustrating stories to be shared with classmates. Conference day was filled with storytelling, theater performances, and a picnic lunch. It was my favorite day of the year! I knew from then on that I wanted to be a writer, and still have every book I wrote. I wish to inspire young authors the way I was. With that goal in mind I have created my Young Author’s Workshop. Workshop is designed to inspire students to write using fun and educational tips of the trade.

I find inspiration for my writing everyday as a wife and mother of 5. I love to laugh and see imagination come to life and my family helps me do that everyday. I am the author of the picture book Why Can’t Every Day Be Halloween? a humorous tale of too much fun.

I am the current Regional Advisor for the North Texas Chapter of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators where I encourage children’s book creators to reach their goals by providing learning opportunities through workshops, conferences, and community events.

I currently serve on the library board of my local library where I assist in planning and implementing the summer reading and community outreach programs and write the library blog.
