ABOUT JESSICA FREEBURG

  • I am a former teacher who began getting serious about my writing when I was a stay-at-home to the three children. During those years, my second career was born. Now that my monkeys are a bit bigger, I’ve taken on the role of editor with FATE Magazine (the longest running paranormal periodical dedicated to covering all things unexplained). When I’m not shuttling my children from practices and performances, I love to write poetry, YA fiction and screenplays. My short stories and poetry for children have appeared in Children’s Playmate Magazine, Humpty Dumpty Magazine, Stories for Children Magazine and My Light Magazine. My written work has also been published in the adult market in Focus on the Family Magazine, Thriving Family Magazine and FATE Magazine. My short story DEAD AIR is featured in DEATH AWAITS (Harren Press, 2014). My YA Speculative Fiction novel is currently represented by Dawn Frederick, Agent/Owner at Red Sofa Literary. Did I mention I’m the founder of Ghost Stories, Inc (probably the weirdest writers group to ever be born out of SCBWI)? Yup, GSI is my baby. We ghost hunt, teach writing/illustrating workshops at haunted locations and film documentaries about creepy-cool stuff. I currently serve as the Assistant Regional Advisor for Minnesota.
