ABOUT KRISTI WRIGHT

  • I’ve been a member of SCBWI since 2009 and am a co Assistant Regional Advisor for the San Francisco/South region.

I write picture books and middle grade novels. In the past, I also wrote historical romances and was a Golden Heart finalist three times and winner of the Royal Ascot twice.

My indie-published middle grade series, The Basker Twins in the 31st Century, raises funds and awareness for childhood-onset disease, Friedreich’s ataxia. I offer writing workshops at numerous elementary schools that focus on writing with a strong point of view and tons of sensory detail.

I’m a mentor for the non-profit Society of Young Inklings, taking great pleasure in helping young authors stretch their writing wings.
I’m also a founding contributor and assistant editor to a blog on the craft of writing middle grade novels: www.mglunchbreak.com.
I live in Northern California with my dear husband, a sweet but wacky dog, and two fiendishly clever cats. I’m a writer by day and a ukulele player by night. Find me at  www.kristiwrightauthor.com and on Twitter @KristiWrite.
