• MAPLE LAM loves creating characters and constructing worlds around them.  She moved from Hong Kong to Los Angeles at age 11, bringing with her boxes of art tools, sketchpads, and a mini library of storybooks.  After graduating from University of California, Irvine with a studio art degree, she worked as a designer by day but filled her sketchpads by night.

In 2012, Maple started pursuing her dream as a full-time illustrator.  She joined SCBWI and became a SCBWI Bulletin Artspot Featured Artist.  She won the SCBWI Illustrator Mentorship Award the same year.  Her fabulous mentors and talented fellow mentees continue to help her grow as a visual storyteller.
Maple draws and writes stories everyday, and her mini library of storybooks continues to expand one shelf at a time.
