ABOUT REBECCA LANGSTON-GEORGE

  • I’m the Assistant Regional Advisor for the SCBWI Central-Coastal region. My published book titles include Orphan Trains: Taking the Rails to a New Life (September, 2016, Capstone Press) a National Council on Social Studies Notable book for 2017, as well as For the Right to Learn: The Malala Yousafzai Story (August, 2015, Capstone Press) a Skipping Stones Multicultural Award Winner. Titles for 2017 include Deep Cover Spies and Double Crossers of the Cold War; Fearless Spies and Daring Deeds of World War II, and The Booth Brothers: Drama, Fame and the Death of President Lincoln.  California Reading Association recently recognized me with the Armin Schulz award for writing that promotes social justice.  When I’m not writing I can be found teaching fifth grade in Bakersfield, California.
