Tired of hunting through the printed Membership Roster to find other SCBWI members?

Well, the new Online Roster can help you with all three! This system is designed to serve the same purposes as the printed Roster (or "red book") and is available to active members only. The search works only if a member is logged in on the homepage (i.e., no one can stumble across this page without being logged in as a member). The Membership Roster is never made public.

Here's how the Online Roster works...

1. Type in the information below and click the "Search" button. You can find all members in your city, all members in your state, province or country, all members with the last name "Smith," all members in your zip code. Or even all members in your state with the last name "Smith" -- any combination (or no combination) is okay.

2. After you click the "Search" button, a new page will load up with a list of SCBWI members who match your search criteria. Only those who have agreed to be listed in the printed Roster will appear in the list (i.e., those who said they do not want to be printed in the Roster, will not appear here either).

3. Click on the name of the person you wish to contact and a window will pop-up where you can type in a message. Please make sure your anti-pop-up software is disabled!

4. Click the "Send" button and your message will be emailed to the other person. The subject of the email will be "Message from SCBWI member: [Your Name Here]." The recipient is reminded that a response is welcome, but not required. See Guidelines for Appropriate Use below.

Guidelines for Appropriate Use
  • This online roster message system allows one-at-a-time communication from one member to another member via email or postal address. When you send an email message, your name will appear in the subject line of the email.

  • The search results may NOT be used for commercial purposes. Messages such as public relations/marketing announcements, queries to publishers or agents, and "super deals" on products are all considered SPAM. This lookup is intended as a way to reach individual members NOT groups of members. (See the "Member Announcements" forum of the Discussion Boards for a more effective way to reach groups.)

  • The recipient is not required to respond to your message. Please be understanding if you do not receive a response right away or ever.

  • If you do not wish to be reachable via this online roster system, you may update your information and check the box which indicates you do NOT want your name to appear in the membership roster.

  • If your name did not come up in a search and you do wish to be reachable via this system, you may update your information and uncheck the box which indicates you do NOT want your name to appear in the membership roster.
