PAL Publishers

PAL stands for "Published and Listed.“ These are books published by traditional publishing houses that do not charge money to author or illustrators. Only PAL books are eligible for the Crystal Kite Awards and may be sold at SCBWI events. All published children's books (both PAL and non-PAL) are eligible for the Golden Kite Awards, Book Launch Grant, Online Book Launch Parties, and can be sold in the SCBWI Online Bookstore.

Click here for a current list of all our PAL publishers.

If you feel your publishing house fits these criteria please fill out the information below.

Once you have submitted the PAL Inquiry form, the SCBWI PAL Inquiry committee will verify your publisher for possible inclusion in our market surveys. There is no guarantee that the publisher will be included. Please note that review may take up to 45 business days to receive a response. Please note that only books for children  published by a PAL publisher qualify for PAL status.
