Remembering Mary Jane Hopkins
Beloved Austin, TX, author Mary Jane Hopkins,
died February 10. SCBWI members knew Mary Jane
as the author of many children’s stories published in
magazines. Mary Jane also helped compile the 2002
publication The Directory Guide to Magazine Markets.
She taught writers’ workshops and encouraged fledgling
writers to join critique groups. Her many friends hope that
Mary Jane’s unpublished young adult novels may yet
delight readers.
