Connie Heckert is the author of 13 published books for children, teens and adults. Her published work in the children’s field includes Miss Rochelle and the Lost Bell (Quest Publ.)and Dribbles (Clarion Books, 1993). “The Ballad of a Prairie Blacksmith” (John Deere), appeared in Cricket Magazine in March 2004. For teens, The Swedish Connections (Sutherland Publ.), her Master of Arts thesis in English at the University of Iowa,and To Keera With Love (Sheed and Ward), added to her nonfiction credits. An essay appeared in the anthology, The Writing Group Book (Chicago Press Review),and she’s published in The Writer, with a sale to Highlights for Children. She has published seven corporate/family pictorial histories, with one a WIP, and has one co-authored historical cookbook for adults. Connie holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing for Children and Teens from Hamline University. She served as Iowa Regional Advisor from 2000-2016.
