Bio:

I have a BFA in Animation/Illustration from San Jose State University, and a BA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University.  I spent many years as an animator prior to beginning my illustration career, and have worked at Electronic Arts, as well as with several clients on a freelance basis.

My first author/illustrator picture book, Roar!, published by Running Press, was released in 2015.  I am under contract to illustrate “Crawly School for Bugs”, written by David L. Harrison, to be released in 2017.  I am currently the Illustrator Coordinator for the SF/North & East Bay SCBWI Region.
My awards include:
  • Best Portfolio, 2014 Western Washington SCBWI Conference.
  • Best Portfolio 2014 Golden Gate SCBWI SF/South Conference.
  • Best Portfolio 2013 SCBWI Oakland Conference.
  • Runner Up Portfolio, 2012 SCBWI Spring Spirit Conference.
  • Best Postcard, 2011 SCBWI Illustrator’s Day, Sacramento, CA.

Presentation Description:

I do an interactive presentation of my book, ROAR!, which is best suited for kids from preschool to 1st grade.  I have done presentations as short as 15 minutes, especially suitable for the youngest kids, or one that runs closer to 30 or 40 minutes, which can include a craft element.  I am both an author and an illustrator.  If the presentation isn’t within driving distance, I would charge for travel expenses.
