Two Opportunities for Writers and Illustrators

Two fantastic opportunities we would like to announce!

One for writers:

The Associates of the Boston Public Library is currently accepting applications for its eleventh Children’s Writer-in-Residence. The program was created to provide an emerging children's author with the financial support and quiet space needed to complete one literary work. Eligible projects include fiction, nonfiction, a script, or poetry intended for children or young adults. The fellowship provides a $20,000 stipend and an office at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square from September 2014 through May 2015. Applications must be postmarked by April 1st. To learn more about the program & prior winners please see: http://www.writer-in-residence.org. The application form can be found here: http://www.bpl.org/general/associates/2014ApplicationCWIR.pdf

And one for illustrators:

The City of Beverly Hills, on behalf of The Friends of the Beverly Hills Library, requests concept proposals for the entryway to the Enchanted Woods Room of the new Beverly Hills Public Library Children’s Library. The competition is open to all professional artists. Proposals must be inclusive of all
project costs, including: design, travel, materials, installation (if applicable), protection, insurance, etc. The pdf with the details can be found here: http://www.friendsofbhpl.org/. The deadline for this is May 16, 2014.
