2021 Golden Kite Award Winners and Honor Recipients Announced

SCBWI announced the winners and honor book recipients of its annual Golden Kite Awards and the Sid Fleischman Humor Award at its Winter conference on Friday February 19. Each winner received a $2,500 award along with $1,000 to contribute to a nonprofit of their choice. Each honor recipient received a $500 award along with $250 to a nonprofit of their choice.

SCBWI Executive Director Lin Oliver commented, “The Golden Kite Awards and the Sid Fleischman Award are given for excellence in several categories of literature, and are judged by fellow authors and illustrators. They are the most significant peer-judged awards in our field, and it is SCBWI’s privilege to honor this group of outstanding, diverse and talented authors and illustrators chosen from a large and competitive field. Congratulations to all the recipients and the publishing teams that brought these books to the public.”
