Ok. I know this is a boringly general topic...and we've probably discussed this somewhere before...BUT

Who are your favorite children's poets? I want to stretch my boundaries, read beyond what I've read before.

Some of  my favorites are:

Jack Prelutsky--cause I've tried and tried to be that silly and I'm not there yet
Mary Ann Hoberman

Oh and a million others but I want to know what you've got to say.

I just read Charlotte Pomerantz's  "Piggy in the Puddle" & it is so much fun! Rhyming pb, though she writes prose stories as well.

I ADORE Ogden Nash -- as do my children, who love the 2 Custard the Dragon PBs.  Way cute!

Now I'm off to the library to check out several of the recommendations . . .
