Does anyone know of or would recommend a good Chinese or Japanese (or maybe even Korean) picture book? To clarify I don't mean comics, I mean in the same way we think of picture books. Published recently?
I found a Western picture book I'd like to read, though that's from like 2002. (I'm not sure how fast picture book standards change, so trying to keep an eye out.)
Aside: I seem to be on a picture book roll. I have six picture book shorts now.

I’m assuming that you are talking about the setting and plot, etc.?
Here are a few of my favorites:
The Boy From the Dragon Palace
Retold by Margaret Read MacDonald

Fu Finds the Way by John Rocco
Check out the most amazing book trailer EVER:

And two picture books by one of my favorite authors:
The Runaway Wok by Ying Chang Compestine
Note: My grandson and I did a super fun unit with it.

And here’s the second one…

Note: Have to add that I absolutely adore the illustrations in each of these picture books. They are a talented bunch!
