Do teens still say this? What do they say?

Hmmm, I have three teen boys: 17, 15, and 13. I don't think I ever heard them say this. When they wake up, I'll ask them! But my teens are on the geeky side, they are definitely not the "cool" kids. . . don't know if that will make a difference. :-)

I don’t think so...I haven’t ever heard my teens say it. I’ll have to ask them about possible substitutions

Just chatted with the teens. Stoked is not said. Maybe "psyched". My 17 y/o said "hyped" is probably more used. My 13 y/o, in typical 13 y/o fashion, rolled his eyes and said "Definitely not stoked. You adults who try to sound like kids, it just doesn't work. If I'm excited about something, I say I'm excited." And walked away. LOL.
Hope that helps!

Made me laugh out loud.
It sounds like may be a local vernacular.
I like hyped and psyched. I've heard psyched but never hyped.
Thanks everyone. You all

I have three teenage grandsons living two doors away. They never say stoked. Slang is really hard to use in books and can easily date them. Oddly enough, "cool" seems to have stood the test of time - at least around here. Good luck.

Cool is still used, at least around parents and those older. Stoked is definitely not.
Hyped comes from drug culture. A lot of current slang seems to. I've never heard either of my teens use any of the words mentioned except excited.
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hyped
. Looking at Urban Dictionary, hyped was posted quite some time ago.

Talked to my 14 year old while he was gaming with teenage friends (online) He said the word stoked is definitely not used and that he would just say he’s excited about something if he’s excited about it. I had him ask his friends he was gaming with and they said the same.
