Title: Formatting question for chapter book

I tried to search for an answer to no avail, so hoping someone can help me out...

I am getting close to querying and have read in some places that every new chapter should start on a new page in the document. Does this apply to chapter book submissions, too?

Also, I have back matter to include and have read to include it as a separate word count. Would you list that on the page where that begins or on your first page, such as "Word count: X; Back-matter Word Count: Y."

Yes, to both. I start new chapters on a new page and if there's back matter or sidebars, have those with a separate word count. Best of luck!
