I'm glad I'm not the only one who's quietly obsessing about it!

I'm assuming they aren't in a rush to pick winners, as they have until October 31st haha.

Does anyone know how long of a lead time do they need to put a book like this into print by October?

Hi everyone,
Last week I received a reply to an email I sent, and was told they're in the second round of judging. The message also mentioned that if you haven't received an official "no" from them, this means you are in the second round!  It finished with, "We will notify everyone soon."
Good luck to all!
cheers,
Steve

FYI, back in early February, I received a rejection letter for the contest. I decided to take my finished ms and try to get it published elsewhere. I'm happy to report that I was successful in doing so. My entry was written as a NF piece, which might have hurt my chances in the contest. Anyway, the ms was published several weeks ago in Paranormal Underground Magazine and I actually got paid for it! So if anyone falls short on getting into the book, try what I did. Good luck .

Does anyone know results from the contest? I see that a book with the same title  was published in 2001. Thanks!

Any news yet? I've had some email issues over the past two weeks, so just double checking that I didn't miss anything. After thinking we would find out on March 15th, I'm having a hard time waiting! :) Congrats on your magazine publication, Ken!

Haven’t they been on Round 2 since February!? Why do they hate us so much!? 😭😂

Thank you, Natalie! Just curious how you found out this information? There seems to be very little info out there!

Several people mentioned getting rejections right around the time of the Winter Conference.

I checked in with SCBWI a couple of weeks ago. It's my understanding that the remaining entries are in the hands of the publisher, but it's taking longer than originally thought to get the final decisions.

Good luck to everyone who is still in the running!  :goodluck
