I need to look up someone's criminal records. Does anyone know a safe site to use? It's okay if I need to pay the site for the information. I appreciate any help. Thank you!

If you know the legal jurisdiction where the crime occurred or was prosecuted, consider going directly to the source. You might need to fill out a Freedom of Information Act request, but if the material is public record, you should get a reply. (If it's not public record, I don't think any of the sites could help you.)

Thank you Debbie. Do you know if those paid sites are legit to get the criminal record info or are they just scams?

I don't know. This is part of why I'm recommending going to the source. Actually, that will be better if you have to cite sources for the book too. Primary sources are always best and not having it pass through someone else seems better to me too. I'm sure you could search the name of each site with the word scam and see what comes up.
