Urgent question, if anyone could please help - Ann Whitford Paul Award

Discussion started on

Hi,

I want to submit a story to the Ann Whitford Paul award and I'm not sure about the format required for the cover sheet. This is what it says in the guidelines:

"Please include a cover sheet that has the title of the manuscript and all of your contact information"

Does that mean a cover letter with a pitch and / or synopsis of the story?
Or is it just the title and my contact information?
And should it be attached as a document or in the body of the submission email?

If anyone could enlighten me on this that would be awesome.

Many thanks,
Yaara

Yaara, did you email the contact person on the Award description page - Sarah Diamond? She would be the best person to answer your question.

In my opinion, a cover sheet is just that: The title of the manuscript and all of your contact information. It says cover sheet, not cover letter, so I would interpret that as no need for a pitch/synopsis. But that's just me. I hope Sarah answers your question in time. And I would have it as the first page of the pdf file.

Freaky Funky Fish ( Running Press Kids, May 2021)
Tell Someone (Albert Whitman, October 2021)
Peculiar Primates (Running Press Kids, October 2022)

Thank you dkshumaker, makes sense!

It's probably too late for emails at this stage, I only found out about the award a few days ago and the question only came up today.

Anyway I already submitted my ms as well as a query sheet with a synopsis and pitch for good mesure as I wasn't sure... hopefully it's ok:)

I entered this contest, and now I can't remember when the winners will be announced. Can someone with a better memory help?

I don't think it was stated anywhere. I was wondering about that myself. If you get an answer please share it here:)
Good luck!

I didn't see it stated anywhere for this year's contest.  But in 2020, the Ann Whitford Paul winners were announced mid-June.  See here:
