Hi - I'm looking for recently published (within last 5 years) YA novels (MG too, but preferably YA) where the MC deals with the sudden/unexpected death of a sibling. I already am familiar with A Summer To Die (Lowry), and The Sky is Everywhere (Nelson) ... any other suggestions appreciated!
Thanks,
Abby

You might check out Paula Garner's PHANTOM LIMBS. I think the lost sibling was the secondary character's, but it's a major plot line and beautifully written. Bring tissues.

Hannah Barnaby's SOME OF THE PARTS is beautiful.
-
Tracey Martin's SKID will be out from Leap Books in two weeks -- that is about the death of a sibling.
PERSONAL EFFECTS by EM Kokie
-
The Way Back from Broken by Amber Keyser.
-
The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand
All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
Some more on this website from 2012: http://stackedbooks.org/2012/11/contemporary-ya-fiction-on-grief-book.html
I'm sure there are more! There have been lots of suicide/car accident books in the past few years it seems.

Just wanted to send out a thanks for all of these recommendations. I greatly appreciate it! If anyone thinks of others, let me know!
Thanks again,
Abby
