Title: Grosset and Dunlap's "Who Was" series
Post by: susan-olcott on January 26, 2017, 05:56 AM
I'm interested in writing for Grosset and Dunlap's series "Who Was . . . .", a series of biographies. I'm an unpublished author in the children's book arena but published in other genres. Does anyone have pointers on how to pitch myself to them?  Thanks! Susan

You could write a proposal with a sample and see if they bite.
Good luck, Vijaya

Fall in love with a person's story. Love the research. Write a great ms kids will love. When pitching, let your love show.

That said, Grossett & Dunlap follows PENGUIN's submission guidelines in not accepting unsolicited manuscripts.

But don't let that stop you from writing a great biography!
