Good people of these boards-- 
I'm looking for more current expressions to replace these :

YIKES

GOODIE-TWO-SHOES

Both are clear, and used by younger folks for many years. But my ears (and some younger people in my life) have said these are dated. They suggest a child in the 1940-1960, or one who is an adult now but grew up then. They have not suggested more contemporary alternatives.  :badidea
Regardless of what Era these belong to, (and no doubt that today's kids know what these mean) I would love suggestions from those of you who have ten to twelve-year-olds in your residence and have your ears to the wall...

Mirka, I asked my 10yo granddaughter. She said most kids would use OMG instead of yikes. If that doesn't sit well (and it doesn't with me, especially for MG), would "Whoa" work? Her 8yo sister sometimes says, "Dang," with a tone of wonderment, for something like this.

The 10yo said her circle of friends would probably say "She's so perfect," in place of "goody two shoes."

Yup, OMG doesn't sit well with me, (it's the fourth commandment thing, DANG!  ) though it was the first suggested by my young'uns. They find my custom, in casual correspondence,  of typing  the G word with a space omitting the O most peculiar. No fundamentalist, I. But it's a sensitivity.

I like 'whoa,' though it has a different feel. I almost want to invent a word.

andracill-- did your 14 year old feel goodie 2 shoes was still kid-speak? And should I spell it with the numeral, as you have?

He said it's used, though not as often as other words (like teacher's pet).

I'd go with teacher's pet too.

I grew up typing G-d. This is what Jews did. However, items written on the computer because of the ephemeral nature are allowed to use the term spelled out. It's still weird to type God though.

I'm trying to figure out what my kids say instead of yikes. Best guess is they say what I say. Kids under ten are more likely to imitate adults for these expressions. Dang or maybe crap. Oh, and OMG is used for everything.
