If you are writing a children's picture book that includes factual information (about animals or historic people), do you need to include a Works Cited page?

I would for more obscure facts. Obviously if everyone knows an animal has four legs, you don't need to cite that, or that George Washington was our first President. But if you mention that the animal spits out purple saliva or George had one blue and and one brown eye that wasn't common knowledge, I would cite that. (Made up examples, of course! LOL!)

Hey, my last cat had one blue and one brown eye! She lived to the ripe old age of 18 yrs. I still miss her...don't get me started.
Megan, I always cite my sources for the facts, both for fact-checking and possible illustration help.

LOL! Poor examples, I know. I wish I had one blue eye and one brown eye. Could be kind of fun!
