Hello all,

I've currently decided to take on a long project: writing a book. As an illustrator it's my intention to also illustrate it.
Given that the research is quite specific into paleontology (the story should become very Jules Vernesque)

I had a look at the different databases given in the sticky topic, but unfortunately paleontology isn't covered greatly in it. So I was wondering if anybody has any hints into how to find info.

I will try to contact some scientists that should know, but I was hoping someone who's had to go on a similar research path might have some pointers (do's and don'ts)

I have no experience with this, but I would think a good start is the Paleontological Society (https://www.paleosoc.org/ has three databases listed under resources), a university or a larger museum.

I'd esp. recommend any museum of natural history. For very specific info about different creatures, you can use google scholar with the name of your creature and find your scientist(s). Happy reading, writing, drawing, and researching!
