When to follow up on a request for electronic version

Hi Folks- Would love some advice. I have a PB manuscript that was pulled from the slush on 7/14 and I was contacted by the editor (who has retired but is still working on projects on a contract basis) for the electronic version to circulate to other editors. I am wondering when it would be appropriate to follow up. I know that 3.5 months is a nanosecond in publishing time, but I'm antsy. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!
