Title: Picture book recommendations?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a new stack of picture books for reference (I live too far away from English libraries or bookshops) and would love to get some recommendations for your favorite picture books, preferably from the past few years, not too old.

I just read "Rissy, No Kissies!" (written by Katey Howes, and illustrated by Jess Engle) for the first time this morning, and absolutely loved it! If you like rhyming texts, I highly recommend it :)

Recent favorites include PBs by Tammi Sauer, Nicola Davies, Yuyi Morales, Salina Yoon, Lita Judge, Linda Ashman, Kevan Atteberry and so many more. How fun you're going shopping! Enjoy!

Some recent favourites:

William & the Missing Masterpiece
The Sound of Silence
Charlotte and the Rock
The Scarecrow
Quiet Down, Loud Town!
Turtle in a Tree

Also anything from Flying Eye Books - everything they do is gorgeous! - along with Barefoot Books, Familius and Chronicle. :)

And, you know, my books ;)

Have you been through the ALA Notable Books for the past few years? I assume you've checked out the Caldecott Medal and Honor Books?
