Hi everyone,

I've had a person in mind that I felt like is just perfect to have their story told as a PB for awhile now.  But I've hesitated to start.  Why?  Because they're still alive but not super well know , probably hard to access (minor royalty, rural, and far away) and PB bios are oversold atm anyway.  But it occurred to me today, that perhaps the best way to get the story out there would be to tell a fictional "inspired by" story instead and discuss my inspiration in an author note or something?  I would love to start researching fictional PBs that were explicitly inspired by real people/events.  Does anyone have suggestions of PBs to start reading?

Thanks,
Sarah

Are you still planning on writing ABOUT the person or just a story that has similarities but different characters, details, etc?

I know there are PB Bios like THE OLDEST STUDENT, THE KITE THAT BRIDGED TWO NATIONS, etc. are fictionalized versions of true stories because the author couldn't verify everything and they explain that in the authors notes. But sometimes, many times, they are classified as nonfiction though technically they  would be historical fiction.

I don't know if this helps at all.

DK,

Thank you for the reply.  I'm considering writing a completely fictional story with similar characters and details, but I will also check out the fictionalized bio books you mentioned.  Perhaps that's another possibility.

Thanks again,
Sarah
