Each Kindness, for a lyrical narrator's voice that gently brings the reader along;

This is Not My Hat, for a cheeky, wonderfully unapologetic, and woefully unaware,  first person voice;

Extra Yarn, third-person kind of fairy tale voice that somehow manages to be close to the MC...close enough to capture her nonchalance.

These are all new, from the 2013 ALA awards but, as evidenced above, there are tons and tons out there...and I would say that the voice of a PB is captured also through the illustrations, sometimes they speak even louder than the text, so that's the 'voice' we pick up.

Sue, that's a pretty great list! I second Amber on the Mountain by Tony Johnston,  The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch, and When I Was Young and in the Mountains by Cynthia Rylant.  And I love Patricia Polacco's books. Those are some favorites with great voice. Thanks for sharing.
