When you registered for the Blueboard (or signed in as a SCBWI member) you chose a User Name.  That's a system name that can only be changed by an administrator.

The good news is that you can change the name that everybody else sees when they read one of your posts.

You'd think that name would be called "user name" but you would be wrong. (I suspect it's a holdover from the early days of software engineering, before all this newfangled user-friendly   :snowywindow stuff was invented....)  Your profile labels it merely "Name." By default it's the same as your User Name, but if you decide you'd rather have  your displayed name be a bit more creative (or more anonymous) than the name you registered with, here's how to change your Name aka Display Name aka Screen Name:

1. Access your profile by clicking on your name in the upper right corner of your screen.

2. In the dropdown menu that appears, click  and under Modify Profile, choose Account Settings. The first setting is your user name, which only an administrator can change. Under the User Name is a field called  "Name" with the explanation "This is the displayed name that people will see." This is where you should change the name (aka Display Name AKA Screen Name) that everybody sees.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the blue "Change profile" button!
