My granddaughter posted this today and I just had to laugh!
I just found a POTATO in my son's TOY BOX. When asked what it was doing there he informed me the potato was his FRIEND. I BLAME MY GRANDMA Verla Kay AND THE BOOK SHE GOT THE KIDS, "Sophie's Squash"!!! I'm just thankful he only stole the potato this morning!!

That's hysterical. I am thankful that my little one is so far mostly obsessed with penguins. (She has a couple penguin books we can thank that for, and yes, one of them is Salina's.)

Aw, that's so cute. At least potatoes don't spoil too quickly! (I once found a piece of pizza under my couch! True story.)

I loved loved LOVED
Sophie's Squash
! Author's a WI SCBWI person, which is why I picked it up last year before the Crystal Kite voting. Don't think she's a BBer, though, so somebody who knows her might point her to these boards!

So funny! Sophie's Squash is a great book --- of course, you would read it to the little guy! Maybe time to buy him a Mr. Potato Head. Thanks for sharing.
PS: I want to know what his potato's name was!

I just returned Sophie's Squash to the library yesterday. Fantastic book. So what was the young spud's name? Be happy it wasn't a tomato. That could be squished in the toy box.

Funny! Good thing she discovered it quickly before it grew too many eyes.
