Title: examples of high concept PBs?
Post by: hue on June 07, 2020, 06:42 PM
I was reading agents' wishlist and found quite a few agents mentioned "high-concept" PB in their wishlists.  Just wonder what does that mean exactly,  and do you have any "high-concept" PB in mind to suggest?

Thank you!

In general, it means it has a hook that can be easily expressed and is commercial. Think Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. The title alone presents a high concept with kid appeal and humor.

The opposite would be quieter or more literary.
