How to use the Blueboard - things you should and should not do - to effectively promote your work via the Blueboard.
Essential Reminder:
Make sure you read the Rules of the Board before you post!
Board Rules:
https://www.scbwi.org/boards/index.php?topic=90515.0Please note that the Blueboard is essentially for the SHARING of information. It is not and was never meant to be simply a place to promote books. In spite of that, there's something to be said for sharing your new book information with your peers, who can help spread the word about your wonderful new book. The Blueboard has very strict rules about what is and what is not allowed when it comes to promotion of books on the board.
The number one way to spread the word about your new book is to use an image of your new book cover as your avatar. Go into your profile and upload a clear cover image. (Ask your publisher to send you a good .jpg copy of it if you don't have access to one.) Every single time you post on the board, everyone reading that thread will see your book cover. If you add a little information about the book in your profile, that will also show up in every post.
Read The Secret of Book Promotion on the Blueboard:
https://www.scbwi.org/boards/index.php?topic=71976.msg1016415#msg1016415You will find you will get the best results if you first get to know (and to be known) by other Blueboarders. The absolute best way to do that is to become an active board member and post thoughtful, sharing messages with your peers. Ask questions and answer other people's questions. Each time you post, you are letting people get to know you - and your new book.
If you are new to the Blueboard:
